(After a long silence)
-Well, what do you think?

-It is, truly potent. Our best work yet.

-I agree.

Chapter 2
It hits the streets

What had happpened was, the two had never stopped smoking all throughout their mission. By the time they had finally reached a point where they were content, they were unable to define how good their creation really was.

Nevertheless, they provided their achievement to their distributors.

It hit the streets.

This was truly a good day for cannabis. The people were touched.

Chapter 1
The first hit.

What follows is a sample of the reactions –amongst the peoples- to the first hit.

(The hoods)

AWWW SHIT WHAT THE FUCK IS GOIN ON

OOOOH, (pause) OOOOh-ooh.

(sobs) It’s so beautiful. I aint never wanna die man. You hear me? (sobs)

(The surfers)

Brraaaah.

(throughout the city)
There was jubilation: long kisses to their girlfriends, laughter, prayers, applause.

Chapter 4
That day

Of the residents of the city, those high greatly outnumbered those who weren’t. Some took a walk, others went to the park, some took a drive. All was warmth. All was right. It was paradisiacal.

Juice -Gunz’s enemy

Taking place in the city called “Dreams”

Chapter one
Dreams

People suffered in the city of dreams.
In the city of the concrete was thirsty for blood and its foundation was made of bodies.
They had love for each other, which would make one feel like it wasn’t so bad.
Dreams: many souls with bright, shining dreams, but Dreams had other plans for them.
The elders; coming from a different generation, would speak about how late at night, if you listened carefully, you could hear Dreams laughing off in the distance.

Chapter two
Gunz

Although he had negativity inside, he fought it. In the midst of everything, and his upbringing, Gunz had turned into a good person.

At times he found himself robbing someone, or beating somebody up; surprised by his power.

(A glimpse at Gunz’s past)
(When Gunz was a kid)

Gunz -Momma, are you okay momma? Don’t cry.

Little Gunz knew nothing about poverty. He knew nothing of starvation. When he was hungry, he would just simply look in the refrigerator or ask his mom. His mother would come up with ways to help little Gunz forget about his hunger.

Gunz’mom -Well I know of something better than just some plain ol’ food. Let’s sing!

Gunz -Okay momma.

They would sing and sing and little Gunz would soon find himself satisfied inside. Glowing, he would quickly go to sleep.

In grade school he became friends with Pointdexter. Who would have known they would stay friends all the way into adulthood?

(when Gunz and Pointdexter were kids)

Gunz -You’re my best friend

Pointdexter -You’re my best friend

They were bonded. It was if they were brothers. They felt like they could play: forever.
(Dreams through the eyes of Gunz, the present)

It’s live up in here. Muthafucka’s on some huffin’ shit, muthatfucka’s on some jack move shit, lemme get 5 dollars for this toaster shit, fiends, villains, all kinds of shit. Peeps be on some zoo shit round here. I done sat at night just trippin on the whole scene, straight high off stupit on this shit, then, I done fucked around and fell asleep. But, you know, it’s all good. This is Dreams! Ask anybody, there’s love. We’s on the same boat, we all suffer, we all have a good time. It’s just one big “I feel you”. Don’t get me wrong, it’s tough around here, but there’s good here.

Chapter Three
Candy

Candy would spend a lot of time in the mirror; posing, blowing kisses. She really loved Gunz and; often, would wonder about him. She was faithful, she was real supportive of Gunz and sometimes would be scared for him. Her and him together, she was in a magical world, a world cold when he would leave. All the happenings in the city of , the killings, the animal like behavior; she would look past.
Candy -I got love so nothing’s going to bring me down.

(Gunz in Candy’s eyes.)

I’m in love. I love him. He’s there for me, and treats me good. I’m from Dreams, I know where he’s coming from.
You know, I think he feels the same way about me too.

(Candy in Gunz’s eyes)

What can I say, that’s my girl. She down for a muthafucka, makes me feel good. Its cute cuz she be coming out with some way out the park shit. She’s cool. She’s cool.

Chapter Four
Pointdexter

One of the things he had in common with Gunz was that they both lived the lifestyle. Pointdexter wanted to master the best of life in Dreams. It was all he knew.

Chapter Five The story of vibe

Vibe was a drug created in the city of . Some would say vibe was the perfect drug. It was real cheap and easy to make. Its strong effects would heighten to extreme levels, and past that, leaving one feeling overwhelmed. When on vibe, a person could easily enter into a world of escape; of forget, forgetting the bad even though the bad was heavy on the soul. It seemed like, for those eight hours, all the negativity was gone from the mind; all that was left was the pulsating good feeling all throughout the body; and the buzzing warmth in the mind.

Feelin’ fly, off that vibe
That’s the one, I can’t deny
Feeling fine, off that vibe
I’m so high I’m feelin’: LIVE!

Chapter Six
The story of vibe and Pointdexter

Pointdexter would never forget the first time he tried vibe…

(The past)

Pointdexter -Oh shit. Aww shiet. I done took too much of this shit…

Pointdexter had saved up a year’s worth of pay-from working at the supermarket- and spent it all on vibe. He had decided from the beginning to do it all in one night: and he did. Many people got to know him that night, which led to his broad list of connections.

(The story of vibe and Pointdexter in Gunz’s eyes)

Oh yeah, that shit about Pointdexter doing all the vibe that one night, that shit was true. It was about midnight, and this muthafucka calls me up:

(On the phone)

Pointdexter -Hello, is this uh, is this Gunz

Gunz -Yeah it’s Gunz. Wassup wit it

Pointdexter -I did a terrible thing

Gunz -aw man, you done turned trick?

Pointdexter -I’m scared.

I was thinking somethin’ like, this muthafucka’s high, and didn’t invite me?

Gunz -You’s higher than a muthafucka

Pointdexter -Yes I am. Them ladies. The sky. Muthafucka, you the homie, you’s aight wit me. Aye, if I die the ladies goin’ weep...

I mean this muthafucka was talking all this “the Dreams way” shit, talking philosophical. All it did was make me want to do some shit: which I did.

Yeah that was some funny ass shit.

Chapter Seven
How Juice met Gunz’s mom
Before Gunz was born, life in Dreams was really hard on his mom. Many times she would get robbed. A healthy woman, sometimes she would feel too ill to go to work. She tried working hard at her job, but it still seemed like there was never enough, enough for just the simple things. She knew that prostituting wasn’t really selling her self, she was still young, and she was very aware of the money that could be made at the track...

Dreams –There’s good money in the track.

She decided to go.
The track was like a whole world in itself. It was lively; it was active; energy was in the air. Business was booming and the women seemed like they could work forever. The track never shut down.

One night Gunz’s mom had a client. This particular client was madly in love with her. He had romantic feelings of freeing her from that bad bad world and bringing her home to himself. The next day Gunz’s mom started feeling all the symptoms of pregnancy so she went and got a test. The result was positive. The night before -after the deal was done- the client had spilled his heart out telling Gunz’s mom of how nice she would be treated and how good to her he would be. The client had left his name and number: 555-1283, Juice.
Gunz’s mom, being a good woman, decided to keep the baby and also go live with Juice. She never loved him. The money was good and that’s what kept her with him.
The reality was that to her, in her eyes, Juice was far from being a man. After a while Juice began to suspect something was wrong. One day in a heated argument Gunz’s mom was pushed to give Juice a piece of her mind. She let Juice know how she really felt, which drove Juice into an extreme change of mentality. He figured all his love was unappreciated so he became the complete opposite: a smart aleck violent asshole. He would beat on Gunz’s mother whenever he needed to feel better than her. Every time, he would start apologizing and promising he would never do it again; but he did and every time she forgave him.
Aside from the money, she wanted Gunz to grow up in a family. She remained supporting her husband.
Eventually it became too much for her, so she left Juice, bringing her son with her.

Chapter Eight
Gunz visits his mom

Sun, can you shine all day?
And when the night come
Can’t you make it go away?

It was a bright day, the yellow sun stood still overhead. Gunz approached his mother’s house and rang the doorbell.

Gunz’s mom -Why hello! What a pleasant surprise.

Gunz -Hi mom.

Gunz’s mom -Well come in, come in.

Gunz’s mom was a good soul. Speaking the truth, hard working, religious, she would like to pick up a map of the world and picture herself in , , or on the sands of a tropical island.
They spoke and had a nice conversation. They talked about all sorts of topics. There was a glow to the house. Time seemed to move at a slower pace. Gunz began to close his eyes, every time longer until he found himself going to sleep.

Chapter Nine
The next day

Gunz was busy with his exercising routine. Flashes of Juice raising his hand to beat him flew through his mind. Tears in his eyes, trying to block it all out, he began to exercise harder. In a fury, his flesh began to feel as if it were filled with acid.

Gunz -This muthafucka is a funk. Imma take that muthafucka out. I’ll kill his ass with my fists. Give em’ a brain hemorrhage.

Dreams -Pop em’

Chapter Ten
At the club

Pointdexter -Ooh yay, it’s poppin’ up in here. Gunz, you smell that?

Gunz- You play too much.

The music played loud, drowning out all worry, all pain. The club was a warm escape. They danced; doing so as their ancestors did.
The people were excited, they were happy.

Gunz -Aww that’s the shit right there.

Candy -Ooh that’s my song! Gunz, they’re playing our song!

Gunz -I know.

Gunz and Candy hugged. Body warmth; but, it was so much more than that. Nothing else mattered.

Pointdexter -There they go, there they go again.

Gunz and Candy walked into the dance floor. Upon the first step inside it was as if they stepped into another world. It was as if electrical charges were firing out of the people, traveling throughout the dance floor and sparking rises of chemicals in the people’s brains. Everybody, with their own way, dancing; and yet they were unified.
When the song began to mix into the next, everybody stopped, and began to applaud.

As the sunlight began to seep through, long after Gunz, Candy, and Pointdexter had left the club: the music played on.

Chapter Eleven
Gunz goes looking for a gun

(On the phone)

Gunz -Pointdexter, I know you got connections; see, I’m trying to get a gun.

Pointdexter -I know you is trying to get back at Juice and all that; but, it happened so long ago. Why don’t you just let it go. Plus he’s your father.

Gunz -That’s exactly my point. He wasn’t no good father. He made sure that I was born feeling like a little girl on some weakness shit. You know that shit’s still there. It be coming up to this day, me having these “weak episodes” and shit.

Pointdexter -call back in fifteen minutes

They hung up. Pointdexter started looking through his list of connections. He found just the person: Big Ralph. Big Ralph was like a variety store. He could get anything from narcotics to office supplies.
Pointdexter gave him a call. He told Big Ralph what it was Gunz was looking for. Big Ralph told him to come by after six.

Chapter 11
At Big Ralph’s House

Big Ralph had an entire arsenal beneath a blanket. He took the blanket off and waited for Gunz’s reply.

Gunz -Let me get this one.

Pointdexter always wanted a gun. He imagined himself strapped, shouting at victims, “Come out with the cash muthafucka, come with it.” Yet he was always too scared to buy one.

Gunz paid BigRalph. Big Ralph handed him the gun.

Gunz -strapped.
Gunz couldn’t help but grin.

Pointdexter noticed the look on Gunz’s face and thought: fuck it.

Pointdexter told Big Ralph, “Let me get one too.”

Big Ralph was a bit surprised; but, thinking of the extra sale he said, “Okay, which one you want.” Pointdexter chose one, and paid Big Ralph.

Both Gunz and Pointdexter left Big Ralph’s house with smiles on their faces.

Gunz -We strapped muthafucka!

They both began to laugh, entering the car lightheaded.
.
Chapter 12
Strapped

Feelings of power ran all throughout inside of Gunz.

Gunz -This shit got me feeling like a villain; like a giant. This shit right here got a muthafucka on the level...

Pointdexter -Aye, this being strapped stuff got me feeling fiendish.

Gunz figured Candy would find out sooner or later that he had gotten a gun, so he decided to let her know himself.

(On the telephone)
(After conversating for a while)

Gunz -Candy?

Candy -Yehhhhs?

Gunz -I can’t hold back the truth from you: I’m strapped.

She stayed silent. Candy had feared for Gunz, but now her fears doubled.

She began to cry.

Gunz -Imma be alright.

[Between sobs]

Candy -you know what happens to killers.

What someone else might have known, Gunz didn’t. From an outside perspective one would see a man -although with good in him- that had the potential to hurt a lot of people. A man merely steps before entering a level that he couldn’t possibly step down from.

Gunz -this man beat me and my mom, and all kinds of shit. I can’t explain it, but I got to.

As he said this his voice began to squeak. The weakness began to rise up again.
Gunz quickly hung up with Candy.

Gunz didn’t like being around anyone during one of his weak episodes.

Gunz -Fuck this shit

Chapter 13
To kill a man

In the city of dreams murder was rewarded. It was as if you became a millionaire over night. People would look at you different, people would treat you different, and there was a stronger attraction to the members of the opposite sex.
It would change a person completely. He would be on an adrenaline rush twenty four seven.
To some, the feelings were so irresistible that they became addicted; wanting to kill more and more, multiplying it all.
That’s why many people in Dreams decided to take it there.
Yet there was a downside to it all.
In the city of dreams when a person killed somebody the weight of that person was carried within the killer along with all the grief of the family and friends of the victim.
They called it “lifting weights”.
There was “the birds and the bees” and then there was the “live by the gun die by the gun” talk. Every parent in Dreams told their children something to the effect that they’ll kill you if you show the potential to kill many; or they’ll hurt you if you have lived a life hurting many people, and they’ll kill you if you have lived a life killing many. Explained to them that if you’ve killed and still want to kill people you’re going to get killed, if you hurt someone and keep on wanting to hurt people you’re going to get hurt. Told them that you could be forgiven, restored back to your community, restored back to those living if you stop in your tracks, and never do it again.

Chapter 14
Brainstorming

Gunz -So how are we gonna do this.

Pointdexter -I have no idea. This is some needle in a haystack shit. He could be anywhere in this joint. I have a feeling he’s still trickin’. Maybe we should start at the track. We can ask around. We could also ask the older people in the track; one of them gots to know.

Gunz -You with me on this shit though right?

Pointdexter -Yeah you know I got your back.

Chapter 15
At the track

People were circling the whole perimeter of the track in their cars, some cruising, some looking for pleasure. The sidewalks were crowded with dealers, prostitutes, and visitors. Cars honked, women hollered, people were walking by conversating and laughing. The whole place was alive.
Gunz parked his car about a half a block away. Gunz took out some vibe gave himself some then gave some to Pointdexter.

Gunz -You know we goin have to do some of this shit before we go up in that mug.

Pointdexter -wouldn’t be the same withOUT IT!

As they did the vibe, it was as if everybody in the track felt it, and for one brief moment, they were all uplifted. Both Gunz and Pointdexter got out of the car and began to walk towards their destination. They were on a mission: ask every pimp, hoe, dealer and fiend for the whereabouts of Juice. One of them had to know.

Pointdexter -Shit, we strapped, we’s on this vibe shit, and soon you’s bout to get your cap on. It don’t get no better than this.

The being strapped, high, and in the middle of such a place, Pointdexter couldn’t help himself.

Pointdexter -imma jack somebody.

Before Gunz could even react, Pointdexter began to run behind a trick and smashed him on the back of the head with his pistol. The trick fell straight down and flat on his chest. The trick fumbled to get up. When the trick finally did get up on his two feet, Pointdexter was there waiting, pointing his gun at his head.

Gunz -Pointdexter, what the fuck are you doing?!

Pointdexter -Imma jack heeiem

As the whole scene went down it seemed as though nothing was going on. The most of a reaction that occurred was from a man passing by who chuckled a little bit.

Pointdexter -You know how crazy I am?

Gunz -This muthafucka goin shoot em’

Pointdexter -I want your money AND your life. If you gimme your money I might cut you a deal with you and let you have your life. But if you act stupid, you goin die: a stupid muthafucka.

The terrified man quickly reached into his pockets and pulled out a roll of hundreds. At the sight of it Pointdexter whooped and said, “Gunz, look at this loot! I wasn’t wrong wanting to jack em’.”

Dreams -Scrillie

Gunz -What you goin do with all that loot, overdose? Break bed wit a muthafucka!

Pointdexter-Aight

Pointdexter pulled two hundreds and handed them to Gunz.

Gunz -Oh it’s good. Shit, thank you.

At that moment three men were walking straight in Gunz and Pointdexter’s direction, with the taste of hurt on their palate. Standing right in front of Gunz and Pointdexter, one of them yelled out, “Oh, so yall think you’re hot shit now.”

It seemed as though they couldn’t kill them, so, they had to go about it swinging.

The fight broke loose. One of them punched Gunz in the face. Gunz stood his ground threw a punch back and knocked him out. Pointdexter punched the other, while Gunz went after the third man. The fight was intense but the two men got to their feet and ran off.

Gunz -I got that muthafucka good.

Pointdexter -Yeah that’s the shit right there

At that moment, a hoe came up to Gunz and Pointdexter and told Gunz, “Are you okay honey? Are you hurt?”

It just so happened that this particular hoe had a thing for fist fights. Seeing Gunz fight, had turned her whole life upside down. The hoe began to hug Gunz, and whispered in his ear, “I’m yours.”

Chapter 16
Hooked

Gunz would hear stories about “the hook”, but never really thought it could happen to him. When a prostitute got hooked her mind state changed. On a natural high, the hoe would follow –the man that hooked her- around everywhere, following him. If he would stop walking, she would stop walking with a smile on her face. The whole scene was supernatural.

Hooked, hooked, got her hooked,
You know she –just- got- that look
Hook, hooked, got- her- hooked
You
Know
she
will
get that- loot

Gunz felt himself sinking deep into the track, deep into the game, something took over him. His heart turned completely cold, and said, “Ho, give me all the money that’s on you.”
She replied, “Yes daddy.”

Chapter 17
A new shade to life

Things were rough, but, throughout his life Gunz developed a thick skin. He really saw himself living a simple life, working at his job, exercising, doing vibe. Gunz would have never thought that he’d end up pimpin, but here he was in the track with a hook on a broad and with 600 dollars in his pocket. He saw himself making more money then he was at his job. Gunz figured that the more time he’d spend at the track, the better chances he’d get to find Juice. So he decided to stay at a hotel right there in the track.

Gunz -I’m ghost, but I’ll drop you off at your crib.

Pointdexter -Aight cool. You goin be aight though?

Gunz -Fa’sho.

Chapter 18
Humpin’

(Pimpin’ on his hoe through Gunz’s eyes)

This hoe was up and down, in and out of cars and hotels. She was workin’, she was humpin’!

Chapter 19
Gunz heads home

It was a week since somebody had heard from Gunz. One night Pointdexter decided to call. When Pointdexter called –at the time- Gunz didn’t know what day it was. When he found out that it had been a week, shocked, he quickly hung up with Pointdexter dropped the hoe off at the track and drove home.

Driving home, a jagged thought had pierced him: he was having relations with the hoe the whole time. He began to feel the pains of guilt.

When Gunz got home it was horrifying site: Every single item in his house was stolen, and to add insult to injury all his windows were broken. To buy everything back would have spent most of his track money. He found himself in a very bad situation. He decided to call Pointdexter.

(On the phone)

Gunz -Pointdexter?
Pointdexter -Sup Gunz. I guess you found out about your crib, that shit is fucked up.

Gunz -I know. Imma have to spend all my money I made pimpin’ that hoe on buying everything back. Plus, I done cheated on Candy with that hoe.

Pointdexter- Damn. You know what we need to do? We need to get high.

Gunz -That’s what I need right about now.
First imma go and talk to Candy hoping she’ll forgive me. I’ll hit you up later.

Pointdexter -Aight. Peace.

Gunz -Imma do that vibe like a muthafucka

Chapter 20
Gunz talks to Candy

Gunz drove to Candy’s place. Gunz knocked and Candy opened the door.

Candy -Gunz?!

Gunz -Yeah it’s me

Candy - I’m so glad to see you! I was worried sick! How are you? Come in!

Gunz went in and sat down on the couch.

Gunz -Listen I got to let you know something, this whole past week I was living in a hotel in the track. Also this hoe came up to me, giving herself up to me, so I started pimping her. I want to come clean: I was also having relations with her.

Candy -Oh Gunz you?
She stood there silent.

Gunz -I’m sorry Candy. You know I was faithful and a good man to you, I’m sorry. I’ll never do it again. Can you forgive me? I mean if you don’t want to its cool.

When Gunz had said this, Candy stayed quiet and was deep in thought.

Candy -Come here

They hugged.

Candy -Of course I forgive you.

They kept hugging, Gunz thought about how good it felt to be in Candy’s arms.

Relieved, Gunz felt like a weight was lifted off him.
He smiled.

Gunz -Come with me to Pointdexter’s house, he has some of that waiting for me, and I just want to kick it, and party with you tonight.

Candy -I like that idea.

Chapter 22
Gunz explains what happened at the track

(Through Gunz’s eyes)

The money was rollin’ in! I spent all my time and energy looking for Juice, taking care of that hoe, and getting high. Looking back, them days went by like seconds.

Pointdexter was right about talking to the older folks. That became my main focus. The first night, man! It was some shit... I met up with this group of grown folks out in the alley shooting craps. Game after game, they kept going, losing money then winning it back, it just didn’t stop. I must’ve spent half the night there whoopin and hollerin in the heat of the moment. They welcomed me into their circle like if I was one of theirs. Respectfully I cut in the middle of a game to ask them bout Juice; and man, one of them had heard of him. He didn’t know him well, but he did say that he knew that he was alive.
That did it for me. My intent to find him multiplied. I now knew that he was out there.
I soon left them, they all said their good-byes and I’ll be damned if they weren’t there still playing when the night started to turn to day.

The second bit of information I had found out came my last day there-the day that Pointdexter called-.
See, there was this hoe, all those familiar with the track would say that there wasn’t one trick she hadn’t been with.
I asked around and I finally found out where to find her.
When I found her, she even offered me a night! I asked if the name Juice sounded familiar.
She said, “Let me see. Juice, Juice.... Yes I do remember him!” I asked her for any information she might have had about him. She told me that the last she heard of him was him asking her for a vibe dealer.
It seemed as though that muthafucka got into vibe. I thought: what’s this low, chump, punk muthafucka doing trying to feel good?
The whole shit put my mind in a funk.
Speaking of funk, ever since I found out about Juice still being alive the whole scenes of my youth, the girly shit, images of him attacking me were stronger than ever. My muthafuckin mouth watered at the thought of ending his life.

Chapter 23
Pointdexter talks about Gunz’s search

(Gunz’s search for Juice in Pointdexter’s eyes)

Yeah Gunz and Juice, that shit go way back. I could remember as early as middle school him talkin’ about killing him -once in a while-. Then as adults it seemed as though he was becoming more and more passionate about it by the second. Once, when we was kickin’ it he had mentioned something to the effect that when he killed him he would have not only ended his life, but kill all the Juice shit inside him, and be on the killer shit. I mean, I’ve seen muthafuckas get smoked just for whatever was in their pockets, at least Gunz had some reasons.

Chapter 24
The next day (after Gunz partied with Candy) (Back to the present)

Gunz went straight to Pointdexter’s house to tell him what he had found out at the track.

Pointdexter -Oh shit, you mean to tell me that Juice be doing vibe? Most of my list is of muthafuckas that do vibe!!

Gunz -It’s on

Pointdexter -I’ll give you the whole shit. You can look through all the numbers and see wassup. When you find somebody that knows him I’ll set it up so we can all chill and we’ll find out where he stay!

Chapter 25
Gunz finds out where Juice lives

Through all the numbers Pointdexter gave him, Gunz was able to find somebody that was good friends with Juice.
They did as Pointdexter had said, and went to party with Juice’s friend.
They found out where Juice stayed at and that very day went to the location: an apartment complex.
Gunz went to Juice’s apartment, and took his gun out.
Gunz kicked down the door and rushed in, gun in hand. What he found was something he didn’t expect. It was a startled Juice old, grey, and very ill. When Juice saw the gun, he laid on the floor saying, “Please don’t hurt me mister.” He began to cry. The sly Juice tried reverse psychology:

Juice -go on ahead and shoot me, its okay I believe in heaven.

Juice began to feel that this was it. He made up his mind: he wanted to die.
Juice got up on his knees and lowered his head waiting for the bullet. What Gunz didn’t know was that Juice wanted Gunz to kill him, committing Gunz to a short lived life, ending in death also.
But then a beautiful thing happened. Gunz dropped his gun to the floor. At that moment he had a moment of clarity. He realized that his whole life was lived at the mercy of the city and the people in it. It was Dreams that had everybody caught up; having them get guns and kill each other as well as everything else wrong in that city.

That day, Gunz was victorious. He felt like new, how he never felt before.

He proved himself worthy of better.

Epilogue

Gunz soon moved out of Dreams. He never had those thoughts and feelings again.

Once Pointdexter saw that there was life outside of Dreams; he quickly moved out too.

Gunz brought Candy with him. They got married. To this day they live happily wed.

Fade the funk

The End

Introduction

The following story treks the reader through the preparation stages of the night’s festivity, one which is traveled through from beginning to end.

The Festival

Twilight
The night will soon come
Many engaging in this time, to rest, others, immersing in this time: to rise, anxious for the impending and great activity

Anticipation, excitement, resolve.

The D.J. bringing out his records.

A pair of eyes’ pupils dialating.

A good feeling in the air.

A guard releases a velvet rope...

A two second flash of lightning.

It has begun.

Inside.
People united. Their purpose surely having to be fufilled.
Their each individual yearnings surely having to be fufilled
Cravings for good feelings. They surely had to be fulfilled.
And, they all did get fufilled.

Can you feel it?

Laughter. Good times

People hugging

A person takes a pill.

A pipe is passed.

The music booms.

The crowd jumps in unison.

It has begun.

The bass. It’s vibrations visible.

A woman’s elation.

Nubians sitting, drumming away at their drums.

Drum n Bass.

Trance.

House

The main stage

The festival’s four main areas.

A mass of people.
One of the greatest occurences in our existence, the unification of a mass, the unification of a mass of people under the sounds of music.

The music

Dance

Celebration

Fun

Happiness

A celebration of life

What an exquisite way to enjoy living

Molecules vibrating to a climatic explosion.

A woman cries out of joy.

Remembering.

The drum n bass mc saying ‘This is for the real, the real muthafuckas....feel this!

A doctor puts his stetescope upon the chest of a patient.

Drugs.

The people on it (neptune), feeling a sinking into bliss, nodding, as if saying no to all the feelings arising. A rain of pleasure within, traveling down from the top of the head to the feet. Lightly caressing the bodies’ sensations, where, there lies a glowing light. Upon the touch, millions of particles of pleasure traveling throughout the area being touched.

Feeling, the music.

The drum n bass mc saying, “We’re in the middle of the mix, yes, so we goin do this!”

Trance D.J. intent upon his mix,
And yes. A seemless intensfying of the song.

Indigenous

Audio fluidity

Enthralling, to the point of almost overwhelment

And the persistent flowing of sounds

The people enjoying.

A high five

A moodfull kiss

The melding of a couple, in holding hands

The vibe intensifies

Midnight

Love
Romance
Passion

People begin to take more drugs.

A rose blooming

A shooting star

The people are uplifted.

A glowing river of feelings

Realization

Living it

The feelings beginning to surface up to expression.

Please don’t ever leave me

I never want to stop

And the music intensifies

Sights beautified

Love all throughout

An embrace.

Warmth

The night inches closer to day

Oblivion

Bliss

The sun’s light beginning to color the sky

People deep in the feeling.

The final set, the sun rising
A brand new day

A success

Introduction

I would like to finish this book of short stories with a little twist: an emcee’s rhyme. MC KO is the name of the author of this rhyme.

The Scientist

I am the scientist
The muthafucka, the man,
And yes i rely on this,
Bit
Of information
Check the declaration
Don’t try to dis
the crowd gets loud
feeling nuthin but bliss
when i rocks the mike
just like this
Don’t fuck around
I give it up to the underground
Like freestyle shit freestyle hits
into the air
With nobody being able to buy that shit

I sigh
As i
write this
I sigh,
Because of the question:
How can they know the depths of the self
With-just-one-in-tro-riff?

I sigh
Because i got love to give
I sigh
Thinking of it
Thinking of her
And
delivering it

How beautiful would it be
To have a warm nest where she can rest and reside
How beautiful would it be
Could-i-be-complete
Can i tru-ly-be-complete
Without her
i think it would be so sweet

This is my plight,
My affliction:
Nobody to
share the night

A PUERTORICAN.
Coming from the isle.
Warm sands warm waters, The sea
all around me.
The place known for its beauty and magic.
Residing
by the sea
Prophecy
Genesis fourty-nine thirteen
ZEBULIM.
I am
I am the kokee
Who?
A small frog
Special to the island
No where else,
You can find him
We love him.
He blesses the isle, With his song
Yes,
A song he sings
But why does he sing so sadly
this is his plight
he
has
nobody
To share the night

I must live,
I
Must
mate,
I need to procreate
to survive
Once i find
That girl to make mine
I will have someone to love
I will have somenone to
Make
love to
Once this is done
The song i’ll sing will be one of glee
grimey
you know what i mean?
I’ll be shining
Just like the sea

VIEQUES, port of riches
TAINO indigenous
I have this inside of me
I put the PR in Pride
As you can see
Jivaro i am,
tilling the earth and waters
And all their bounty....
Borinquen
Strong Silent and Knowing

And on the muthafuckin real I can’t stop flowing
How-can-one
Com-pre-hend
The depth of the self
With just the mention
Of
who and where
i
come
from?

i-sigh
a sigh of smoke
from the spliff
which,is the beggining of the next riff

i fight lies
i dot i’s
my thoughts rise
right before my eyes
chicken pot pies
right after pot highs
cuz i’m...

i’m
not
color blind
when it comes to color lines
acknowledig the truth
which is we all got shine
acknowledging the con-cept
of the incredible potential that lives inside
the incredible potential
that we
all
have
inside

i sigh
a sigh of smoke
cuz i loves to get the bong and take a toke
if!
You-Part-Of
This shit
Then go on ahead and take a hit
Lemme speak about it
I want to walk in the street And shout it
How can you deny your ancestry when we’ve been smoking bud
FOR CENTURIES!

I’m High
Straight up feelin’ fly
Irememberbackinthedaywhen i was sure i-would-die
But now
My tears have been wiped from my eyes
I’m High
And-i- know why

they wanna know
the meaning of life:
to live.
To live forever.
having fun and enjoying it
getting high and having sex!
Yes
Lemme express,
I like the idea of:
marital bliss,
And of course it combined with all of this

I have faith
Believe
And
Confide in this

I thought you knew

I Am the Man,The muthafucka...

The scientist.
